Chicago Center for Orthopedics Sports Medicine and the Schaumburg Boomers
Since 2012, orthopedic and sports medicine experts from Vanguard Chicago Center for Orthopedics (CCO) have provided medical care to the Schaumburg Boomers minor league baseball team, making the CCO the exclusive healthcare provider for the team’s athletes. The partnership is part of the CCO’s overall commitment to improve the health of the community by caring for both professional players and amateur athletes.
The Schaumburg Boomers
The Schaumburg Boomers play their home games out of the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium. They are a member of the Frontier League, a professional baseball league. Founded in 1993, the Frontier League provides its players with an avenue to succeed while learning to be professionals. It also offers its fans affordable, family-oriented entertainment. The Frontier League is home to 14 clubs. The Schaumburg Boomers joined the league in 2012.
To keep the Schaumburg Boomers athletes as healthy as possible, the CCO's sports medicine specialists provide patient-centric care and expertise. As the CCO strives to build on its commitment to educate surrounding communities about healthy lifestyles and fitness, player and mascot appearances at Weiss throughout the season will help promote the importance of physical activity and its role in health for life among hospital employees and patients. Check the Schaumburg Boomers website for more information and game schedules.
